Better way to reduce demand for drugs

Gary Cutrer, Laconia

Drug demand supports law enforcement, violence and many government agencies. Solution: Legalize all drugs and deal with rehabilitation.
This approach promotes a peaceful way to help reduce the demand. This approach takes courage and compassion and has very little chance to go any further than this letter because those in enforcement could lose their jobs and be replaced by people who want to help reduce the violence and demand for drugs.
There are counselors in the prison system so why not expand this approach? The government would produce and sell the drugs in addition to counseling the drug users. This approach will generate billions for the government and lower the violence associated with dealing drugs. The government could have a list of the buyers if needed and completely control of the quality and quality of the drugs.
The alternative is all-out war, starting at the southern border and heading north. Who among you has the courage to help reduce the demand? Not Gov. John Lynch.
